Some Recent Numbers

  • Last year saw a marked increase in the number of housing related interventions for HAS service users. Of the almost 200 HAS interventions this past year, over 30% of them were housing related. These interventions included addressing problems related to lack of heat, water leaks, mould, vermin, rent increases, evictions and landlord harassment.

  • Welfare and pension problems continued to affect HAS service users, with welfare accounting for approximately 14% of interventions, and pensions accounting for about 12% of interventions last year.
