Nous ne refusons pas de service en raison du statut d\u2019immigration, de l\u2019\u00e2ge, de la religion, du pays d\u2019 origine, de votre revenu ou de vos conditions de logement.\r\n\r\nNous aidons les gens \u00e0 comprendre leurs droits et responsabilit\u00e9s. Selon la situation, nous intervenons \u00e0 differents niveaux pour nous assurer que les droits des personnes soient respect\u00e9s et qu'elles puissent avoir acc\u00e8s aux programmes et services auxquels elles sont admissibles.\r\n\r\nNous offrons un service en personne ou au t\u00e9l\u00e9phone avec des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles qualifi\u00e9s, supervis\u00e9s par du personnel experiment\u00e9 et comp\u00e9tent. et qui consacrent la majorit\u00e9 de leurs revenus mensuels pour payer leur loyer.\u00a0 Souvent, les propri\u00e9taires de ces logements ne respectent ni les droits des locataires ni le code municipal de logement.\r\n\r\nNous consid\u00e9rons que l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un logement de qualit\u00e9 constitue un droit humain fondamental. Ainsi, nous travaillons \u00e0 surmonter les diverses barri\u00e8res \u00e0 l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un logement d\u00e9cent que rencontrent les personnes \u00e0 faible revenu.\r\n\r\nPour atteindre nos objectifs, nous travaillons avec des r\u00e9sidents du quartier et des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles qui s\u2019impliquent dans notre Comit\u00e9 droit au logement.\r\n\r\nNous travaillons aussi au sein de coalitions de diff\u00e9rents groupes logement, avec des fonctionnaires et \u00e9lu-es de notre quartier ainsi qu\u2019avec le grand public.\r\n\r\nEnsemble, nous luttons pour plus de logement social l\u2019intersection des rues D\u00e9carie et Jean-Talon. Cet important terrain vacant s\u2019\u00e9tend sur plus de 43 hectares: il s\u2019agit du dernier site disponible pour un d\u00e9veloppement de logement social d\u2019envergure \u00e0 C\u00f4te-des-Neiges.\r\n\r\nOn estime que de 5 000 \u00e0 8 000 logements pourraient y \u00eatre b\u00e2tis. Un tel d\u00e9veloppement aurait comme objectif principal de permettre aux m\u00e9nages d\u2019acheter de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 sur Blue Bonnets.\r\n\r\nCette vision ne permet pas de r\u00e9pondre aux besoins urgents de logement d\u2019une grande partie de la population du quartier.\u00a0 \u00c0 C\u00f4te-des-Neiges, 41% de la population vit en dessous du seuil de faible revenu [1].\u00a0 De plus, presqu\u2019un m\u00e9nage sur quatre consacre plus de 50% de leur revenu au loyer [2], alors que la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 canadienne d\u2019hypoth\u00e8que et de logement consid\u00e8re qu'il est pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable de consacrer moins de 30% de son revenu pour se loger. Pis encore, plus de 4 000 m\u00e9nages consacrent plus de 80% de leur revenu pour se loger [3].\r\n\r\n[av_one_half first av_uid='av-1qfny8e']\r\n[av_textblock size='' font_color='' color='' de logement des m\u00e9nages \u00e0 faible revenu de C\u00f4te-des-Neiges. \u00c9tant donn\u00e9 la p\u00e9nurie de terrains vacants et la sp\u00e9culation immobili\u00e8re dans le quartier, les Qu\u00e9bec ce qui repr\u00e9sente pr\u00e8s de 85% du parc de logements sociaux dans la province.\u00a0 Partout au Canada, cette coupure de 1.7 $ milliards affecterait 600 000 logements Cependant, plusieurs locataires dans des habitations qui ont perdu la subvention f\u00e9d\u00e9rale ont vu leur loyer augmenter de 200$ \u00e0 300$ par mois.\r\n\r\nDans le cas des HLMs, au fur et \u00e0 mesure que le gouvernement f\u00e9d\u00e9ral retire son appui financier, la t\u00e2che de compenser pour la diff\u00e9rence revient au gouvernement provincial. Les m\u00e9nages qui \u00e9taient sortis de la pr\u00e9carit\u00e9 en ayant acc\u00e8s au logement abordable se retrouveront dans la m\u00eame situation que ceux qui ont grandement besoin d\u2019un logement abordable.\r\n\r\nL\u2019\u00e9limination des subventions a un impact direct sur les locataires qui vivent dans un logement social mais aussi sur les m\u00e9nages sur la liste d\u2019attente. \u00c0 la place, les gouvernements devraient investir dans l\u2019entretien des logements sociaux existants et dans le d\u00e9veloppement de nouveaux logements sociaux pour tous ceux qui en ont besoin. Nous croyons que personne ne devrait \u00eatre forc\u00e9 de vivre en situation de pauvret\u00e9, encore moins dans une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 riche comme la n\u00f4tre.\r\n\r\nNous travaillons sur les causes structurelles de la pauvret\u00e9 dans notre communaut\u00e9 par la mobilisation des acteurs de la communaut\u00e9, des campagnes de conscientisation, des interactions avec les fonctionnaires et les \u00e9lu-es ainsi que par notre participation dans diverses coalitions.\r\n\r\nNotre Comit\u00e9 anti-pauvret\u00e9 fonctionne gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la participation des r\u00e9sidents du quartier qui s\u2019impliquent b\u00e9n\u00e9volement en apportant leur savoir-faire et leurs exp\u00e9riences.\r\n[\/av_textblock]\r\n\r\n[av_textblock size='' font_color='' color='' av_uid='av-ar0xcg']\r\nNotre Groupe dignit\u00e9, support et action (DSA) est constitu\u00e9 de personnes qui veulent agir collectivement sur les enjeux li\u00e9s \u00e0 la pauvret\u00e9 suite \u00e0 Les montants actuels des prestations ne permettent pas de couvrir leurs besoins essentiels.\r\n\r\nEn 2013, les personnes recevant le bar\u00e8me le plus bas \u00e0 l\u2019aide sociale, soit 604$ par mois, ne re\u00e7oivent pas assez pour combler m\u00eame la moiti\u00e9 de ces besoins selon les donn\u00e9es rendues disponibles par le gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec.\r\n\r\nToutes cat\u00e9gories confondues, toutes les personnes assist\u00e9es sociales au Qu\u00e9bec vivent de mani\u00e8re pr\u00e9caire bien en de\u00e7\u00e0 des seuils de pauvret\u00e9, peinant \u00e0 payer leur loyer, l\u2019\u00e9picerie, le chauffage et autres d\u00e9penses n\u00e9cessaires.\r\n[\/av_textblock]\r\n[\/av_two_third]\r\n\r\n[av_toggle_container faq_markup='' initial='0' mode='accordion' sort='' une am\u00e9lioration de leurs revenus.\r\n\r\nPour obtenir des changements, nous d\u00e9construisons les pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s n\u00e9gatifs qui existent envers les personnes assist\u00e9es sociales.\u00a0 Ainsi, nos membres et b\u00e9n\u00e9voles participent \u00e0 diverses activit\u00e9s de sensibilisation passant par des moyens cr\u00e9atifs\u00a0: une \u00e9mission de radio \u00e0 situation.\r\n\r\nCampagnes de lettres, demandes de rencontre et actions m\u00e9diatiques font partie des moyens adopt\u00e9s par l\u2019\u00e9quipe pour faire part de nos demandes aux\u00a0 Or, le co\u00fbt des titres de transport et de l\u2019abonnement mensuel oblige les personnes \u00e0 prioriser les d\u00e9placements strictement n\u00e9cessaires en transport en commun, comme les visites m\u00e9dicales ou les achats \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9picerie.\r\n\r\nCertaines personnes n\u2019ont d\u2019autres choix que de marcher. L\u2019impossibilit\u00e9 de se d\u00e9placer \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al freine les personnes dans leurs efforts pour am\u00e9liorer leur situation \u00e9conomique et sociale. Depuis 2004, le co\u00fbt du passage simple a augment\u00e9 de 20% tandis que la CAM mensuelle au tarif ordinaire co\u00fbte 40% plus cher. Nous serions surpris d\u2019apprendre que le revenu de l\u2019usager moyen ait connu la m\u00eame augmentation depuis dix ans. En fait \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, on compte aujourd'hui plus de 400 000 personnes vivant sous le seuil de la pauvret\u00e9 [1]. Par exemple, le revenu mensuel d\u2019une personne seule sur le bien-\u00eatre social est de $610 ... et elle n\u2019est pas admissible \u00e0 un tarif r\u00e9duit! Voil\u00e0 pourquoi nous sommes contre toute hausse, POINT FINAL!\r\n\r\nAvec les hausses de prix, il devient difficile, pour ceux-l\u00e0 m\u00eame qui n\u2019ont d\u2019autres moyens de transport, de se pr\u00e9valoir du transport en commun. Quand on ne peut m\u00eame pas se payer un ticket de bus et qu\u2019on est prestataire de l\u2019aide sociale, on fait face \u00e0 un obstacle \u00e9norme pour se trouver un emploi au-del\u00e0 de son voisinage imm\u00e9diat. Pour les personnes vivant dans la pauvret\u00e9, il devient difficile de se d\u00e9placer vers une banque alimentaire [2], de s\u2019impliquer dans sa communaut\u00e9 ou de faire du b\u00e9n\u00e9volat pour un organisme communautaire dans le but d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir de l'exp\u00e9rience de travail alors que se d\u00e9placer pour les services de base et les rendez-vous m\u00e9dicaux, sans parler de participer aux activit\u00e9s culturelles gratuites rel\u00e8vent du domaine de l\u2019impossible. Les gens ne peuvent pas profiter des aubaines sur les aliments dans les circulaires des \u00e9piceries. C\u2019est Projet PAL, un groupe de Verdun travaillant avec des gens qui avaient beaucoup de mal \u00e0 se rendre \u00e0 leurs rendez-vous m\u00e9dicaux en raison du co\u00fbt du trajet en bus, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 un des premiers groupes \u00e0 soumettre l'id\u00e9e d'un tarif social.\r\n\r\nNous ne sommes pas en train de r\u00eaver en couleurs car le transport abordable ou m\u00eame gratuit pour certaines cat\u00e9gories de personnes existe ... comme par exemple, dans la circonscription de Stephen Harper \u00e0 Calgary, qui offre un tarif pour les personnes \u00e0 faible revenu. \u00a0Plus pr\u00e8s de nous, des municipalit\u00e9s de la Rive-Sud de Montr\u00e9al offrent du transport gratuit pour tous, d\u2019autres comme Longueuil, offrent le transport gratuit pour les personnes Une de leurs strat\u00e9gies est de couper le chauffage dans le but de faire diminuer leurs factures d\u2019hydro-\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. Personne ne devrait vivre dans un appartement glac\u00e9 par faute de moyens.\r\n\r\nC\u2019est pourquoi Projet Gen\u00e8se a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de s\u2019opposer aux plus r\u00e9centes augmentations d\u2019Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec d\u00e9cid\u00e9es par le gouvernement en se joignant aux actions de la Coalition oppos\u00e9e \u00e0\u00a0 la tarification et la privatisation des services publics.\r\n\r\nLors de la fondation Hydro Qu\u00e9bec, le gouvernement avait a inscrit dans la mission de cette soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d'\u00e9tat le mandat de fournir aux m\u00e9nages qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois de l\u2019\u00e9nergie au plus bas prix possible tout en restant rentable. Quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard, le gouvernement a modifi\u00e9 la mission d\u2019Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec pour permettre la r\u00e9alisation de profits importants, une source non n\u00e9gligeable de revenus pour le gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec.\r\n\r\nSuite\u00a0\u00e0 l'augmentation r\u00e9guli\u00e8re\u00a0de ses tarifs, Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec d\u00e9gage actuellement une marge impressionnante\u00a0de profits aux d\u00e9pends des consommateurs.
