What is a non-profit housing project and how do you apply?

In Quebec, there are more than 600 non-profit housing projects (more than 200 in Montreal alone). They are autonomous and are not administered by the governement (unlike low-cost housing).

In Quebec, non-profit housing projects own and manage 23,000 housing units, with half of these receiving rent subsidies. These projects can provide stable and decent housing conditions to people who are vulnerable (either socially, economically or physically), such as seniors or those with specific challenges.
