Project Genesis, a community organization with over 40 years of activism and social solidarity in Côte-des-Neiges, is seeking applicants for a permanent, full-time position (5 days/week) in our Individual Services Center. The Individual Services Center supports community members to defend their rights as tenants and to access social programs such as social assistance and pensions.
Salary: $25.00 to $28.50 / hour, depending on relevant experience and education.
Main tasks:
• Direct support for community members.
• Train and supervise volunteers and students.
• Help prepare and facilitate popular education workshops.
• Collaborate with our community organizing team.
We are seeking:
• Bilingual in English and French; other languages an asset.
• Experience working for community groups.
• Experience offering direct support to community members.
• Knowledge of federal and provincial social programs and tenant rights.
• Studies in law or social work an asset.
• Ability to analyze and retain complex practical and legal information.
• Attention to detail.
• Capacity for independent learning.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and under pressure.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to social justice, dignity and autonomy.
