Community Organizer: Stop Renovictions, Fight the Housing Crisis .
Full-time, one-year position (possibly renewable).

Are you motivated by social justice? Outraged by landlords’ tactics used to evict tenants and drive up rents? Do you want to work in solidarity with Côte-des-Neiges community members and organizations to stop such abuse?
Project Genesis, a community organization with more than 40 years’ experience working for social justice, is seeking a full-time, community organizer (5 days per week) for its new RenovAction project. This is a one-year position, with possibility of renewal.

Salary: $25.00 to $28.50 / hour, depending on relevant experience and education; to be increased in June 2025.

Main tasks:
• Research to identify buildings at risk of renoviction
• Develop popular outreach and education materials
• Door-to-door outreach and popular education
• Organizing public actions with tenants facing eviction
• Collaboration with other neighbourhood groups

We are seeking:
• Capacity for critical analysis on social and economic issues
• Experience organizing low-income and migrant communities and grassroots movements
• Bilingual (French and English), other languages an asset
• Skills working with traditional and social media
• Strong and adaptable communication skills (written and spoken)
