Permanent Position, Four Days per Week
Project Genesis, a community organization with over 40 years of activism and social solidarity in Côte-des-Neiges, is seeking applicants for a permanent, four-day / week position in our Individual Services Center. The Individual Services Center supports community members to defend their rights as tenants and to access social programs such as social assistance and pensions.
Salary: $25.75 to $29.25 / hour, depending on relevant experience.
Main tasks
- Triage support requests, by phone and drop in (actively listen, identify specific needs, and evaluate urgency and level of support needed)
- Provide basic information, resources and referrals, and organize appropriate follow up by individual service staff, interns and volunteers
- Perform related tasks, such as answering phones, taking messages, and entering data
- Organize and maintain information and popular education materials, application forms, and all relevant documents
Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and French; other languages an asset
- Ability to rapidly assess and prioritize complex situations under pressure while remaining patient, respectful and compassionate
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to social justice, dignity, and autonomy
- Experience with community groups and directly supporting community members an asset
