(Audio) Struggles for housing rights in Montreal

Listen to an interview with Claire Abraham, a community organizer at Project Genesis in Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, speaking about current struggles against violations of housing rights taking place in Montreal via the Régie du logement (rental board), which has systemically been prioritizing rent non payment cases via landlords over cases put forward by tenants requesting urgent repairs to apartments. In this interview Claire outlines the ways in which the collective rights of tenants are being systemically violated by the state organizations which is suppose to protect tenant rights. Also this interview highlights the grassroots, community organizing taking place to oppose these injustices.
