Are you motivated by social justice movements? Do you want to work in solidarity with Côte-des-Neiges community members to organise popular actions for housing justice and against poverty?
Project Genesis, a community organization with more than 40 years’ experience working for social justice, is seeking a full-time community organizer (5 days/week).
Salary: $25.00 to $28.50 / hour, depending on relevant experience and education.
Main tasks:
- Organizing campaigns and actions;
- Researching social policies;
- Popular education; and
- Mobilizing residents and coalition-building.
We are seeking:
- Experience working in the community sector;
- Capacity for critical analysis on social and economic issues;
- Familiarity with grassroots movements;
- Bilingual (French and English), other languages an asset;
- Strong people and communication skills;
- Skills working with traditional and social media;
- Excellent capacity to work autonomously and with others.
